About MacKenzie

Hey there! I’m MacKenzie, Kenzie for short. Nice to meet you.

I’m an Upstate New Yorker that grew up playing the clarinet, doodling on my math tests, making yearbooks, throwing on the wheel with my mom, and painting murals on my bedroom wall. Creative expression was always my preferred form of communication, allowing me to explore and understand my internal and external worlds. Creativity liberated me, so now I am on a mission to help others find their inner creative.

I have always been passionate about education. As a daughter of an Educator and Research Scientist, I am dedicated to lifelong learning. So much so that I traded in my 7 year career as a Graphic Designer for the opportunity to pursue my Master’s in Art Education from MASSArt. During the MAT program, I ignited my passion for educating through the arts with a focus in social justice teaching practices, art advocacy, and accessibility.

My artistic work is currently concentrated in Graphic Design & Digital Media, Ceramics, Printmaking, and Painting. However, my curiosity keeps me busy on my downtime — Whether it is analog (needle felting, playing guitar, spoon carving, & a good book) or digital (illustration, design conferences, film, podcasts). I love to discover new skills and explore new possibilities. I hope to bring my own practices as an artist into my teaching practice.

Words aren’t everything…

WHAT INSPIRES ME...
